As self appointed unofficial social secretary (who never turns up to his own events) I figured I couldn't let the opportunity for a meet pass by before the end of the driving season.
On the premis that if planned far enough ahead, (volcanoes and exploding BMW's permitting) I might actually turn up to something, I present the TM Sunday Lunch opinionator thread and poll to determine if there is appetite for a sunday lunch meet sometime before the roads get salted.
If you fancy it, pick the date(s) you think are viable and we'll take it from there.
Cheers, Rich

5th Sept and 3rd Oct are Prescott dates (with the Oct date being a round of the SpeedMog Championship). Steam Ploughing on 25th Sept. That only leaves 10th & 17th Oct for me (my votes cast for those dates ). Cheers,

In view of Graham and 1560's comments I have gone for 17th October, but maybe we need a midweek meet also? Though October may be too soon after summer holidays and St Tropez?

I've voted for 17th October but it depends 'where' and my skilful lobbying of MrsW. Weekday is possible for me, and I would certainly vote for a factory visit with lunch following.

I wouldn't mind tagging along for a lunch plus Factory Visit. Mondays and Tuesdays are a bit of a midweek no-no for me but Weds or Fris are fine- with Thursdays at a push ( I'm out of the UK on 15th Oct and then again bewteen 20th-24th Oct but OK otherwise) G PS if we go to the Factory, do I have to behave?

PS if we go to the Factory, do I have to behave? just don't start to play with clay lying around, or sit in slightly too big chassis' to suit Aero's or ad lines on dashboard-drawings that could suit american clients

Not only in 10 years, but will it kindly not leave another oil trail up Prescott Non-weekend would also be good for me (still have plenty of leave left), combined with another factory tour would be no bad thing - or a visit to a specialist dealer? Cheers,

Frank although I have just sent a message agreeing with DaveW's factory visit idea, another thought could be booking a table for lunch at nearby Mercedes World restaurant on the Sunday 10th Oct Brooklands Morgan Day---Not sure how we would go about doing that or even what the cost would be???? If we could firm up on a how many heads, then a quick telephone call could settle it.
What does everyone think?

David of SW19 Sounds an interesting idea, the Gullwing is a good restaurant or maybe Brooklands could cater? also not so far as Malvern from BXL.

Like the idea of lunch at brooklands, good idea. As for factory visit I think that is a good call bu should be a new thread. My work schedule means midweek is just not an option for me so someone who can be sure of being there should take on the organisation.....

Brooklands and lunch would work for me.
2nd October Russell Patterson is racing at Snetterton, plan to pop over to see how he does. Also was some talk on a mog race at Silverstone but can't remember the dates.
If we're going for a factory visit can we do it when the Eva is back so we can get a look at the size and shape?

I have a call out to the Manager at the Gullwing restuarant for Brooklands Morgan Day on the 10th Oct to find out whether we could book reservations for ? how many---if I say 12-14 (I would take 2 places)is that too many?----How would this fit in with everyone? I think we need to decide fairly soon---by the weekend maybe if this is to work. I would try and agree some restaurant flexibility with the booking---particularly as I would not want to expose myself----financially of course!!---to any hefty costs. In the first instance any suggestions as too numbers???? Regards David of SW19

This is the link for the restaurant--I think you can also find menues plus appropriate costs. When I spoke earlier today to a receptionist she seemed to suggest that the menues change fairly regularly---but if and when the manager returns my call I will check this out in more detail. Sorry I'm a definite no for a Sunday lunch at Brooklands. It's a long trip from Yorkshire and despite my lobbying skills, I very much doubt that I could get it past management.

It might be that we go with Rich ( Mr Tony's suggestion then- split the thread? I don't have any probs with Brooklands but I am finding my diary is getting very full and, purely selfishly, Malvern and the Fctory is a half day'do able' for me G

A follow on for the Brooklands Morgan Day on 10th Oct. It seems that a private room can be rented at Brooklands for £150. Catering can then be supplied (for 8) at £30 per head---all of which I think sounds rather steep and a tad limiting. The nearby (mercedes) Gullwing Restaurant on the other hand currently has lunchtime space, so tomorrow independantly, I will book a table in the name of Birch for 2 (my son Josh will join me) for 1.00pm. If anyone would like to join us (going dutch of course!)then please feel free.---I will tell the restaurant that there maybe a few others---but there wont be problem if you cannot make it---but I am sure you will need to book. Neither my son nor myself know very much mechanicaly about Morgans---our main interest in the make is that we luv to drive um and show off!!!

I think we are looking at two separate events here as Brooklands offers so much to see, and is a great 'pop in' for me especially as I live quite close Will confirm re the Gullwing, or otherwise, in due course. Food is good and indeed is used as a TM Surrey possee meet venue often. I also advocate a factory visit as we are always well received and looked after and the lunch is a nice opportunity to forge or renew friendships

Josh and I have now booked a table for 2 (TABLE 4) under the name of Birch at the Gullwing Restaurant (01932373724) for 1.00pm on Sunday 10th Oct. Brooklands Morgan Day. The idea is now for any other Talk Morgan interested party to make their own independant booking, ideally with Orlando (waiter) who knows to allocate a place either adjoining our table or nearby. With regards to another midweek lunch at MMC sometime in the future---please count me in for that also. Any questions please, fire away. David of SW19

We've booked a table for four (includes 2 friends) for 12:30 lunch. Have yet to decide whether to take Morgan into Brooklands first as I do not know whether I can walk out and in again from MB World for the single entry fee. Hoping it will be a fine day, see you there.

have fun Guys - I will be missing Brooklands for the first time in a few years, as I have to be in Dublin. I will be having a drop of the black stuff and thinking of you.
