Back in September I lost half a front tooth. I'd like to claim that it was knocked out in a fight over a leggy blonde, but it wasn't.

I have my mothers teeth........(cue the jokes), which have vertical cracks, and a misaligned lower front tooth has caused the left front upper to fracture straight down the middle on the crack.

The first patch lasted 24 hours. The second patch lasted one month, but was taken out by a delicious ham sandwich in Cornwall, and so for the past month I've been goofy. (cue the jokes).

Today was DC day. A separate filling, a smooth down of another tooth, and a grind down of the lower front tooth which caused the problem in the first place.

So off we went. First the upper rear gum injection, a short wait then a filling, smooth and grind down. So far so good.

Next the preparation for the crown. First two injections of, in the dentists words, fast acting anaesthetic. Yes it was. The needle up the gum wasn't so bad but the one into the roof of the mouth was an experience. But really no pain. The worst thing was the gumshields full of plasticene to get the 'impressions' Boy were they uncomfortable. And then some extra plasticene freehand. I couldn't quite work out the sequence of events. Then lots of drilling . Lots.
Eventually the temporary crown was in place and after an hour and ten minutes, having had a gobful of plastic, I staggered home for a slug of brandy and port, on Budster's recommendation.

Mind you, plenty of sympathy from MrsW, and I'm milking that for all I can. Of course there are far worse things out there............

Tomorrow morning I will take place in a dentist chair. The good news is that my dentist ist my best Morgan buddy, so discussing about our Moggies will reduce the pain - hopefully 😨😵

It does irritate me that dentistry can avoid warranty responsibility for even expensive work, such as crowns...

Whilst eating a toffee (I know stupid at my age!) I was left with I thought was grit in my mouth having removed it popping another sweet in my mouth discovered later it was a filling! Went to my dentist who asked me what I did with it? As this was a crown! He told me he might have been able to put it back and I would have saved myself a lot of money! Since then I regularly explore my mouth for loose items/ foreign bodies! ( No comments please) Since driving and owning a Morgan my teeth seem less secure ?? Life is a mystery!

Toffee is a no no.
I did my front tooth on crusty toast which was the final straw.
I love crusty toast with runny strawberry jam.
