It was a great event. The vscc people are very friendly and only too keen to answer questions about their cars. They didn’t seem to notice the biting wind at the Honister Pass. The slate mine has a cafe that served soup and bacon butties which was very welcome.

I was going to go and did end up going up the Lakes on Saturday but sadly to visit my mum in Barrow Hospital after braking her back in a fall

Good grief Stewart that sounds bad!
I have been meaning to visit a cousin in Barrow who has done most of the family tree on what I call the Irish side of the family. Major blood line originates in Cumbria/Westmorland.
We failed to meet at the last attempt a few years ago as she had a fall and ended up in hospital for a week. We didn't find out until we'd returned home.
