Good evening

By inadvertance my son pulled the cable that goes from the seat belt lock to a connector

As a consequence, the 'fasten your seatbelt' light is on permanently.

I guess, it is just a matter of reconnecting the plug, but I just can t find the wire to attach it to.

On the Left seat, the wire goes under the leather on the box tunnel and the connector is very visible

On the right seat, I just can t find any connector to plug into.

Is it a seat out job, and if so, is there anything I should pay attention to, or is it that the coinnector is somewhere completely unlikely and that with a lot of flexibility in my fingers, I may find it somewhere?

Thanks in advance

The car is LHD, but that shouldn t matter, but can be proven wrong

I asked the question of the factory when I had my S4 Aero 8 having noticed that there was a cable unconnected beneath the passenger seat of my RHD car. The explanatation was that this was the cable for the seat belt warning light and only the drivers seat cable was connected with the otehr being left unconnected.

Not sure if this helps.

I'd taken the seats out on my S2 Aero as one of the runners had packed up.

under the seat you will find a connection box, this is surplus to requirements and I believe is for the US market. So the plug you are looking at might not be the one you need. IIRC the wiring runs down the seat belt mount.

Removing the seat is relatively straight forward (only 4 nuts) but does require some flexibility it terms of removing the rear nuts. But this should give you a better view of what the issue is.

Don't make the mistake I did if you can use a ratchet type ring spanner otherwise you'll spend forever trying to put the seats back in.

Good Luck

Thank you for the tips, it helped, problem sorted

Having taken the seat out, it is clear that there is no wire to connect to on the passenger side. It is a bit odd but that cable is useless

It turns out that the driver side was as well disconnected and that is what triggered the light. Simple job to reconnect.

When fiddling under the seat, I found a balck box say the size of a small matchbox, still wrapped in bubble plastic

That connects to a cable passing by, and hey presto, the door loud speakers that never worked went on.

Someone in Malvern started to connect bits and pieces and then went for a cup of tea and forgot to finish the job...
