Side indicator lights gone after two weeks...

Good afternoon all, I don't know where to start because a couple of things happened in rapid sequence. The first one (in timeline) is that I bought a 5-year old Plus 4 from Borghi (Milan Morgan dealer) just one day before leaving for holidays.
This is the positive (actually, very positive) note. I'm sorry I didn't have time to write to inform that now I also have a Morgan, after nearly 4 years of not-deciding. I wanted to write in another part of the forum, but the second part of the situation will explain why I'm doing it here.
I went back last weekend and during this week I planned to have some degree of intimacy and imprinting with my new Mog, so I toured around in Brianza for sightseeing. Yesterday I discovered that both the side indicator lights are not working (I hope the technical term is correct or at least understandable). The hazard is not working as well.
It seems something purely electrical because all lamps don't work and because they don't work both if operated from the lever and from the hazard.
Does anyone have some suggestion about what to check? Maybe it's a stupid fuse that could be easy to check or something like that. I cannot go to the dealer until beginning of September (because in August all Italy is on holiday).
I am not intending to make any big intervention on the car myself, therefore if anyone feels this can be an easy-solving problem I can make an attempt, otherwise I'll indicate when I turn with the use of the arms...
...thanks to anyone who could help me.
Regards, Jacopo

Hi Jacopo, Before I ask for the photos of your new car the issue does sound like it could be a fuse. I'm not sure how the +4 is wired but can you see if anything else is connected to the indicator fuse. If so and its now working your problem maybe solved. I'm sure one of the other guys with more knowledge of the +4 will help you in locating the fuses. Now where are the photographs.

I had that on my Roadster: wire-insulation (isolation???) weared out and made "bad contact" and blew the fuse over and over

Welcome Jacomo Check all of the fuses, One box under the bonnet and one under the dashboard. Replace any Blown ones. If the fuse blows again you will know there is a short circuit. So follow 1560's advice and do look for worn insulation anywhere you can trace the wires I dont know if this diagram is any good to you?

Thank you all for all this quick help, it's much more than what I could have hoped for.
I'm not an expert in electrical schemes but I'll try to follow the cables tomorrow morning. First thing I'll check if any fuse is blown, but my (quite stupid) question is: how can a fuse be checked? I can simply pull them off and check if there's any blown one?
I think that the best way to say thanks in this case is to send some pics of my Mog, but here it comes another question: how can I post a picture here?

If you have the fusebox under the dash with 20 fuses, the indicators & headlamp flash is a 15Amp fuse in position 10. This is on the end of a row, so depending on which way round the fusebox is fitted, it will either be nearest the driver or furthest away (left hand drive car). Check your headlamp flasher and if it doesn't work, you may be on the right track. Under the bonnet, the small fusebox has a 20A dash module fuse in position 3 of 9 (or 6 of 9 if you count from the other end). But beware that fuseboxes will vary. Pull a fuse out and it looks like a metal U with a moulded coloured plastic fitting. The U should be continuous. If there's a visible break in the U, the fuse is blown.

Hi Jacopo.
Congratulations on your new car, it will not take you too long to sort out any initial problems.
Your car should be fitted with blade fuses, these have two thin but wide prongs. Take a fuse out and if you inspect it you will see that the two prongs are connected by a thin piece of metal, if the metal is intact then the fuse is not blown. Don't worry too much, if a fuse is blown then it is pretty obvious.
You should normally be able to extract the fuse with the tip of your fingers. If not, have a look in the glove box, if you are lucky it is possible that you will see a small plastic tweezer like tool. This is the Morgan supplied fuse extractor but in all probability this will have long disappeared. If so use tweezers.
The colour of the fuse indicates its rating you should be able to get a selection at any shop that sells bits for cars.

Hi Jacobo,
Just re-read your message, I wasn't too clear if none of the indicators are working? If so a possible culprit (once you have checked the fuses) are the front indicators. On my car the connecting cables for the front indicators were too long. So they had been wrapped into a bundle and cable tied together so tightly that the insulation split, blew the fuse and I lost all the indicators. If yours are similar then a bit of insulation tape will be a temporary fix. A car electrician should be able to shorten the cables to the correct length in 15 minutes or so.

Yesterday I discovered that both the side indicator lights are not working (I hope the technical term is correct or at least understandable). The hazard is not working as well. Salute and greetings for your new (for you) Mog. Just one thing; aren't the side-light non working when delivery like they are in France ??? You can't have both front lenses and side-lights working at the same time so maybe it can be the reason why they don't work

Have a look on the www.gomog.com website - technical manual section - the wiring diagram for your car is there (only RHD though). It sounds almost certain to be a fuse or simple broken connection. Any competent motor electrician should be able to fix it, you shouldn't need a dealer. Or you could try contacting someone via the Morgan Club of Italy www.morganclubitalia.itThere may well be someone near you who can help! Nigel

Hello again, I managed to find a blown fuse in the bonnet, I cannot remember where it was but i presume it's not as suggested by DaveW in 3rd (6th) position, but in the 4th (5th).
Strange things happen...
I think that all cars can have a different fuse scheme, in any case the problem is solved for now, I got a new one and now the lights are working.
For swan013: the problem is on the side indicator lights, not the small ones on top of the wheel arches. It seems that now everything works fine, it was a simple fuse problem (but I fear that if it'll happen again I have to have a check on the wires as suggested).
Thank you all for your help and suggestions.
