- not sure if you will have seen this ,but an interesting review of the new 'London' (or black cab) taxi -

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qOxnJQP2_0E&t=17s

The original company (who were going bust) were taken over by Geeley - who also own Lotus and Volvo (I think !).

The cab is an all alloy, bonded construction with all electric drive but a petrol engine to generate power.Lots of modern touches like re-gen. braking, lane assist, etc.

Personally,I think it is great to see an iconic design being brought up to date.... notworthy

James

'Lane Assist' for cabbies - that'll be immediately disabled then so that they can continue their urban war with cyclists

Thanks for sharing that - it's very impressive I hope it gets the support it deserves.

Maybe they could advise MMC on a suitable battery for the EV3 grin2.

We used to make the rads for the London Taxi at Llanelli Radiators. Three versions on their orders. Not huge volumes.

I was under the impression that the new tech suppliers to the EV3 were the guys that do the new electric cab.

I hadn't realised that - you do wonder why it has taken such a long time to appear.
