In todays Metro (newspaper)....

If you love spreadsheets, own a set of highlighters, and have a penchant for labelling, you're an office geek.

Creating your own colour coding system was also voted one of the top 25 indicators of geekiness.

Also loving the feel of a pen that writes well.

This is me.

Less sure about labelling but spreadsheets are the most amazing tool.

Office power.........
Owned by the person in charge of the staionery cupboard.
Have you tried getting a replacement biro from them?
Favourites are given a spare pen too or a better quality one.

There is absolutely nothing like a spreadsheet full of data. Being a really sad old barsteward sorry geek, I have one covering decades of my own weight, psa, blood pressure, cholesterol etc - in fact the doc asked for a copy of it. And another one with the location value etc of every family asset - thats the mean minded yorkshireman spreadsheet. Then there is the one of Ferrari prices. And even one of Morgan prices somewhere oin the HDD from when I seriously looked at buying one. See you doubters - I did get that far! And so on and on and on.

Yes, I should get a life. But maybe not a Morgan, well not yet. shocked2

Non-favourites have to prove that their old pen has run out of ink - and woe-betide you if you've lost one!

When I worked at Head Office ( woo woo ) in 1975 the person with all the power was the attractive little thing who was in charge of the Photocopy room. Yes we did have one!

Try to jump the queue or complain and that was it - back of the line and enless delays.

She saw me and my buddy's as those annoying lads from Marketing!!

Likely it was the kipper ties that were the give away. And the pointed shoes of course.

Spreadsheets are fantastic tools. That’s the only bit of office geekery I ever managed.
