TM regulars know my past links with the motorcycle industry.
We all know bikes can be (ridiculously) fast.
However the new road going Ducati V4 Panigale has just been independently road tested.
Wait for it!

0 to 100 mph = 5.6 seconds
0 to 150 mph = 10.1 seconds

ps 198 bhp

Technically remarkable, but (IMHO) verging on ludicrous.

True, but probably not as ludicrous as the rear tyre consumption!

- ludicrous indeed, espaecially if you attempted to use even part of that power on a public road.

I love bikes but the traffic and unpredrictable driving public scare the bejeezus out of me.... scared

The world records held by Ultima 720 GTR

0-60 2.6 sec
0-100 5.6 sec
0-150 10.4 sec
0-100-0 9.4 sec
Standing quarter 9.9 sec

Aeroman and my Ultima has 750 bhp and runs out of revs at 216 mph. Frankly it is a hoot to drive.

I'd like to see that at the Brighton Speed Trails one year.

Is that 2.6 to 60 still current? The Tesla P100DL is supposed to do 2.6 to 60.

The one Roadster 2 built apparently 1.9 to 60 (but I've not been in it!)

I had a friend who fitted a Nitrous kit to a Dresda framed CB-X many moons ago. He went drag racing and achieved a 10.6 1/4 mile. The next day his wrists were black and blue and he had pain in his hands with every movement. His doctor advised him that he had stretched the tendons in his hands and wrists and damaged his joints just trying to hang on and pointing the right way. It was a month before he was back to normal. The first thing he did was look for a turbo kit. I felt like entering him for the darwin awards.

At some point it becomes unmanageable.
