I was in Barcelona for a day last year where i saw a number of glassfiber three wheeled hire cars on the streets. They seemed to be electric. Unfortunately it was a monsoon that day so i was unable to get a close look. Anybody know what they are?

The Microlini is inspired by the famous Bubble car. Electric modern version for city use with a bit more chic than most stuff.

Iso designed and built the first ones but then licenced it to BMW and others.

Couple of years ago we were going over Hardnott Pass and met a Twizzy coming the other way. A very much a fun thing with open sides.
As for electric cars in general I see a similarity with diesels in that issues re battery life and disposal are similar to the particulates issues that were known about by politicians but conveniently ignored in order to promote diesel.

I can't find anything on the net but we were told that a local company had built them for hire to tourists and they were using the engine and rear wheel drive from a scooter.

I’ve been tracking them since the prototype at Geneva 2-3 years ago.

Definitely an alternative to consider as a city car. Early estimates though were around £10-12,000
