I get fed emails from the MMC website advertising most second hand Morgans that come up for sale through the main dealers and I also from time to time look at what’s for sale on EBay and Classic cars etc and although I don’t forensically examine prices, I’ve definitely noticed a recent jump in prices, certainly in just the last 6 months.

I’m guessing the general rise in classic cars, low £ against Euro as well as MMC new car price hikes are all stiffening the second hand market

I also watch the prices and the they have jumped up.
The 1999 + 8 at Williams priced at just short of £44,000 ! depends on condition I know.
Roadster were a reasonable buy but have crept up.
Surely the older +8 with the BMW engine will hold their price now with the special edition one advertised at 150 !

I've noticed the same. I think you've correctly identified the reasons.

I'm shocked at the price of new Morgans and this surely is the main reason for the rise in demand/price for used cars.

Yes. I'm noticing the same in the Lotus world too. I personally put it down to factory price increases on the new cars, both marques have leaped in price over the last 2 years with constant hikes.

4/4's at 45k and Elise Cups at 55k, jeez serious money.
This must have a knock on for nice used stock.

Yes the introduction of the special's for the Aero 8 plus a general increase in the collectors cars recently has bought a little additional premium it would appear.

As we have all remarked the price of early Sierra Cosworths, Escorts and other stuff has taken a big bump. As for the price of 911's !

Also the increase in cost of medium business cars like the 3 Series and quality hatchbacks has seen a bump in recent years. A good hatchback is now £20-25k. The new Volvo V40 first edition/RR Evoque easily hit £40k. These are not large cars. When I bought (leased) the AMG E estate it was £67k and now the new model is £81k minimum.

I think I might start stocking up on Aeros wink

Asking price is one thing and selling price is another.
Look at how many new morgans are available at the moment. I would guess that the cars over £60k are moving very slowly without the aid of a finance deal.

This is very true , you have to advertise your Mog in the right place , I was pleased with Allon Whites service when selling mine , and it sold within 2 weeks , its all about cost of commission .

Apparently there's another price rise in april. Anyone know where one can find the new car price list apart from contacting a dealer. It seems to be a secret!

They appear on the Allon White site https://allonwhite.co.uk/morgan-4-4

Considering my 4/4 Sport was £27,000 when I bought it in 2009 that is a big increase to £39,000 IMHO.

I had a tonneau and special steering wheel which took it up to £27,500 fitted which I thought was reasonable.
