Yes the number of occupied houses in the village and Dartmouth has trebled tonight, we shall only be venturing out for vital journeys like bell ringing and Church until Tuesday thumbs.

I hope we get a bit of dry weather but it's looking like a very wet weekend down here.

Anyone visiting Torcross you have to come in via Kingsbridge, car parking at the Tank carpark is now open and also the Memorial car park. You can walk to Strete Gate from the memorial car park of course.

Same to all TMer's. The weather doesn't look good for any driving this BH. It is grey and damp in The Broads and the dreaded caravans are arriving on mass so the roads will be clogged up.
Time for some garage time I think. smile

The M5 southbound is clogged up from Thornbury to beyond Weston-s-mud. The A417 is shut near Nettleton Bottom due to an RTC.
Major roads are becoming car parks...
Happy Easter everyone!

Thanks for the thoughts Richard, I almost feel guilty writing this .... But after two days sailing in the sun and catching fish during both races , we have a long night tonight with the clocks going back , so allowed myself a couple of extra drinks - got chatting to the boat anchored nearest and he asked what we were up to this year talked about uk trip etc and amazingly he has owned a 4/4 for 35 years . What a small world . Best wishes to all of you and happy birthday to Eric Clapton for tomorrow.

Talking of sailing.......I am diverted a tad from my Morgan with this which a group of us at my local sailing club have purchased with the help of the Heritage Lottery.
It’s a 1912 Racing boat based on the lines of a Morecambe Bay Nobby or Prawner, built as a series of 10 for the Royal Mersey Yatch Club. The connection with my village is that it was built by Crossfields a well known builder of fishing boats and yachts....the old yard is just down from my house. We decided that it would be good to have one of their boats back on the estuary.
It was found in Essex having been restored fairly recently and is sound....although it needs a good coat of paint. Hopefully we will get it in the water by the end of April.

Exactly what I thought when it turned up yesterday! AND it did sink in the mouth of the Mersey during its second race😳. Found and recovered several years later! At least if it sinks again in the estuary we will be able to find it when the tide is out!

Looks to have been restored at some stage - either that or has been carefully kept over many years.

The boat looks very special.

That looks like a Fordson Major. One of the tractors of my childhood.
