innocent

p.s.: I am not a judge so I'm not deciding on the punishment - isn‘t that a good thing?

Someone at the depot must have known what state he was in? Or was he drinking in the vehicle after he departed?

Some professional drivers are checked too rarely. They even feel sure they won't get caught if they don't fit into the normal grid of police checks. This can have fatal consequences.
Four weeks ago in Cologne, a tram ran into another standing train at the stop. Over 40 injured. Then it turns out the tram driver was completely drunk. He wouldn't be sampled by the police, but the transport companies would have to. It seems they hadn't controlled it yet.

Sorry to hear that Heinz - it seems more controls in this area are needed.

He was an ex International Rugby player it seems.

He will serve a 16 week sentence - so not far out there.

While he said the bench took in to account Allen’s “obvious remorse” he said “we would be failing in our public duty if we did not meet this offence with a custodial sentence.”

He said they had given him credit for his early guilty plea and previous good character, but had to disqualify him from driving for 164 weeks and ordered him to pay a victim surcharge of £115.

p.s. I personally think they should have banned him from holding an HGV or PSV license for life and fined him £1,000.
