My thoughts exactly. Why would you bother to "drive" in this type of vehicle. All the fun is being drained out.

Perhaps they could mandate a faraday cage to obstruct in-car phone use

Sadly, I wouldn't think it economic for UK manufacturers to build one set of cars for the home market and one set for export - especially if we get a soft Brexit and go for regulatory alignment.

Easiest solution is simply to not buy a new car.

Or will it just encourage drivers to become even more complacent and inattentive as they drive around?

Best safety feature you could fit in a car is a 12" spike mounted in the steering wheel boss pointed straight at the driver's heart.

And that one I do agree with! smile

Can't afford new ones anyway so it won't make any difference to me.

Nor me! Looks like I shall be taking early retirement in November. Time to downshift and grow vegetables.

Ah, but Graham, retirement is just the start of the good times. I have been retired for 22 years and I'm having a blast. My mantra now is " I do what I want to do" !!
Just remember you are young enough not to care and old enough to not give a damn. oldgit
