We saw an Anthracite coloured personal plated one of these on the ferry coming home this afternoon and what an ugly car that is.

When I explained to Heather it's approximate cost she just laughed out loud she thought it looked like a squashed Evoque wannabe - I looked it up when we got home from £199,285 for a quick delivery truck laugh2.

Fair enough Reg, I know the Porkers have sold out and now Ferrari whatever next an Aventador Estate No No some things just should not be built.

It's a bit like MMC building a milk float - I forgot they did one awaiting a battery and it has 3 wheels hide..

Reg, that really is a Mars Bar on wheels isn't it you would be embarrassed to be seen in it. Footballers will love it I guess and the middle east.

Ahem - not much room for milk crates.

MMC did "build" a couple of golf buggies a few years ago though.

Saw one running at Cheltenham racecourse at the 2009 anniversary Richard. Charles was driving it.
I keep seeing one, partly undercover, at the factory. smile

I imagined they were used for carrying small parts around the factory site, not sure why I thought that though smirk2

I'm by no means certain it's true, but the story I heard was that some bloke from the far east (Singapore, maybe?) asked MMC to build him some golf carts for his golf club. I'm not sure whether any more than the prototype got built, though?

When I was working there Sammy was using the golf buggy to move waste around the site. It’s also been used in the past to ferry customers around at the Silverstone Classic etc.

Richard....I assume that your comments about Porsche selling out refers to their SUVs? Without the huge success of those, Porsche would be really struggling. Like it or not, SUVs are what the buyers want. The new Rolls Cullinan (🙄) is expected to boost their overall sales by 50%.

John, It clearly is what the customer wants but to me it seems a bit sad that Ferrari build such things when racing is at the very heart of the business.

It doesn't help that I have a hatred of the SUV either but my family have long since flown the nest so wouldn't see the point of one on a personal level.

That is quite some increase in sales for Rolls if that comes to pass and should secure the Brit workforce so a positive thing.

They are pushing the Cullinan out here, and judging by the number of Bentley Bentayga? Sold to the Chinese property buyers here are likely to have some success.
When I saw the Bentley first a year ago it took some convincing me that it wasn't a cheeky effort by some kit car guys

I had to google this to see what it was, expecting some ghastly Cullinan/Bentayga monstrosity (in view of the comments on the thread), only to find that they Ferrari appear to have renamed the FF.

As it happens, I rather like these. I'm surprised that as an ex Scimitar aficionado you feel so violently against it Richard, as it's really Maranello's take on that sort of concept.

The only thing I thought about the Ferrari when they launched a couple of years ago was the view from the back was a bit like the Volvo 480. Inside it is very dark unless you opt for the glass roof but it is fabulous inside. I like the fact the front passenger ha their own instrument cluster/screen that they can chose what it displays plus the fact i's no slouch!

Thumbs up for the Ferrari then, but then you would expect that from me wouldn't you, oh, and Seb is on pole for todays F1 in Canada. I just hope he can turn it into a win to keep the interesting battle for this years championship on the go.

Forza Ferrari !! flag

I have given it some thought Giles and I loved the Scimitar for what it was and they were craftsmen with their various renditions of plastic pigs be them on 3 or 4 wheels. They had no delusions of being a pure Sports car manufacturer and that is how I see Ferrari, Lamborghini and Mc Claren I was just disappointed that they found it necessary I suppose.

It's nowhere near the same level that the new Bentley and Rolls are though in levels of tastelessness, they are in a league of their own, oh no I forgot the monster Porker that's an ugly one too. Oh I forgot the Quasimodo 8 Audi as well.

I watch the Ferrari Breadvan racing annually at Goodwood Revival and it always raises a smile for most of us with a sense of humour especially as it goes like stink but that's a one off I believe.

Its not a very fair comparison though is it. In truth given the choice of a GTC4 or an Aero most people would choose the GTC however they would need a 2-3x on the price of an Aero to do it. Even the cheapest FF which was where it was developed from is still £110k and thats a sever year old car. We won't go through the operation costs.

I always thought the FF was a bit of an oddball but I do like it and its derivatives. The newer GTC4 TurboV8 model starts at £230k. There was a tiny moment when I thought about selling the two aeros trashing the pension and finding an FF. Must avoid that particular alcohol in the future.

Last Friday we were at a trattoria in Udine when a garage door opened and I recognized a rather agressive engine sound. First time real live sight of a Gtc4Lusso. Impressive engine (sound) but the design lines of this Fezza do not meet my personal taste.

Nice!! But not quite a one-off. After the first one (chassis 2189) two further 250s (2053 GT and 2735 GT) were modified by Bizzarrini, I don't know if both survive but I'm sure I have seen more than one (if real, of course...)

Back on thread, I love 'modern' front-engined Ferraris including the 612 which most people find a bit awkward looking.
