I like the sound of this idea.. It says on their site these will be produced as ultra limited editions so anyone like to guess at the price ?

Porsche gives itself a great present for the 70th anniversary.

Yet another limited edition parts fest. When will this stupidity end. Same motor, new colour and some bits, whole new price.

I say that with half an eye on Morgan for the Aero limited edition models but given the end of the BMW engine line I would say that does make more sense. Until something new arrives and is hiked up further!

#rant mode on
Also every new car company seems to now be looking at new model introductions being accompanied with a "Edition 1" version which is just a crayon through the entire options list and a special trim colour. So if you want a sensible model you have to wait three months.

Volvo, Polestar, MB, Jaguar, LR and more are all at it.

I always thought the best 911 was a C2 with a couple of options. Simple and easier to drive all day.

Alistair,

For what it's worth, I always felt the very best Porsche was the one someone else was driving!! hide

No I appreciate that but I think that's the very reason they have done it on the 70th.

Maybe not at quite the same price though..

Its the end of the 991 version before the 992 hits the showrooms at the end of this year. Efficient way of using up any buffer stocks.

Even if you had the money, getting an allocation will not be easy.

Not to my knowledge but its likely to be a short run and the factory tooling has to be switched over.

From what i hear only select customers are invited to place an order.
