This is the deal.

It must be a weekday.

The LAF is bigger than the LDC.

So if you would like a TM posse trip, we need to first decide when...

We have two Heritage exhibitions here in
> Derby: one located in our Learning & Career Development Centre (LCDC),
> Wilmore Road. This is an overview of the Rolls-Royce story from its
> beginnings to present day product range.
> We also have a more
> extensive collection at our Light Alloy Foundry (LAF) site on Osmaston
> Road, where you can see the largest collection of aero engines in the
> country, ranging from World War 1 era piston engines, the famous
> Merlin, right up to modern day jet engines. The collection also
> includes examples across Rolls-Royce's product range including marine
> and industrial applications. There are a small number of vintage
> cars, some of which hark back to the early days of Rolls-Royce and the
> start of the motor car era. There are also examples of engines and
> motor cars from distinguished names such as Armstrong Siddeley and
> Napier, whose companies became part of the Rolls-Royce group in their
> later years.
> Our exhibitions are
> available to view between 9.15 to 3.15 Monday to Thursday and between
> 09.15 and 12.30 on Friday. All our visits are by prior appointment
> only. Normally the LCDC Exhibition tour takes about 1 hour, the LAF
> Exhibition tour takes about 1¾ hours. You can tour either
> exhibition, or both, but bear in mind the two sites are approximately
> 2 miles apart.
> A guide will take you
> round the exhibitions. There is no charge to visit the exhibitions or
> for the guide. We would require at least 2 weeks’ notice. (We can
> accommodate a group up to 30, but we would need at least a month’s
> notice).
> We ask that sensible shoes are worn whilst visiting the exhibitions
> (no high heels or open toe shoes). It is possible for visitors to
> take photographs (for their own personal use) within the exhibition
> areas. Both the exhibitions have wheelchair access.
> Please note that we do not
> have any lunch facilities for visitors at the LAF site – this would
> need to be organised by yourselves.
> However, you would be able to buy refreshments at the LCDC site.
> Cancellation Policy - if
> due to unforeseen circumstances, eg. bad weather or other, we have the
> right to cancel your visit, and we will of course endeavour to notify
> you as soon as possible.

Why don't you suggest a day & we can comment.
W/o 19 Aug would be good for me.

Excellent Dave.

Count me in. Both or either location, both would be best I think. Make a full day of it and come up the night before.
Just time to burn a little more petrol before dinner.

Depending on the final dates, I would very much like to see these Heritage Exhibitions.

Post the date and I'll confirm.
