As least that photo will keep away the thoughts of the snow in Berkshire.

Tauranga was a lovely town when we visited a few years ago, when my son and his girlfriend (now wife) were working there. The hill on the right looks like Mount Maunganui, a local highspot and worth the hard walk up it.

I will be following your adventures with great interest, it is a route I would like to do myself in a year or two, sadly this year would not have worked for me.

Have a great time, I know you will.

Nigel if the containers are offloaded at Tauranga (likely) they will be rail freighted to Auckland metro port (penrose) to be processed.

Yes the container is being offloaded from the Spirit of Hamburg and is being taken by rail to Auckland Metroport.

Are you tracking the container or "just" the ship?

We are tracking both. As of 2.55 this morning the container has been offloaded and is on a train to Auckland.

It's just as much fun following your car's journey as it will be following you guys on your tour.
I wish I'd bought a 3 wheeler now and I could have gone along with you :-)
