Have you had a look through any of the on-line sites for inspiration?

As an example - this site has many and different types.

https://www.speakers.co.uk/our-speakers/profile/clive_anderson

As an outside the box idea why not make it a panel with some other motoring people, Bentley, Lotus, TVR, Aston etc. Hire a moderator to lead it and get them to discuss the future with Brexit, Low volume manufacturing, compliance, Export markets (China, Asia, US, Europe etc).

You’ve hit the nail squarely on the head there Steve, probably 40% of the audience at the gala dinner are ladies and what might appeal to a lot of the blokes would likely send SWMBOs into a coma yawn

Delia Smith perhaps with her local connections to the Canaries?
Isn't Martin Brundle also local? The Lotus works are also just down the road from the venue getting back to the car theme.

At last years London Classic Car Show (ExCel ) SWMBO and I went to a talk with Vicky Butler-Henderson and the Memsahib enjoyed it immensely as she discussed cars with a lady's view.

We had Paul Cataract at the BDAC Evening lecture. A brilliant speaker, he talked about bush flying in Australia, more recently he is part of a team who fly a high end private jet.
Not directly Mog, but the technical and social content, plus the quality of the lecture and the wide scope will appeal to all at the event.

PM me if you'd like contact details.

How about Steve Morris AND Charles Morgan?
Now that would be interesting!
Seriously Richard Hammond would be good, failing that a good comedian always goes down well. Jim Davidson? Plus 8 (former?) owner?

What budget do you have?
IIRC, in my days as an employee, we paid £18k for Matthew Pincent for a Corporate event in 2006. Hammond may be a bit cheaper for a Morgan event - you can find agencies that list him with a Google.

One agency that lists Hammond - here

One that lists loads of Celebs

And another

In the first instance, try speaking with james.gilbert@morgan-motor.co.uk or 01684 573104

You could discuss many options with him, including Richard Hammond as they usually send him a Christmas card...ever hopeful..

Another suggestion, but Sue Darbyshire is a terrific lady & very successful Morgan three wheeler racer.. Try the MTWC contacts for that. Or are the MSCC & the MTWC still not speaking..?

I went on a corporate do in 2006 at the Belfry where Pincent was the speaker. He was superb though and very inspirational, we all got a signed personised copy of his book after the event

For the evening do at the same event, the organisers paid 15K for Jasper Carrot

He was reasonably entertaining but only gave 45 minutes and was off

When we found out how much he cost we couldn’t believe it

I don't know if Jim Davidson is still on the circuit but we had him at one of our Senior Managers get togethers at the Royal Lancaster Gate Hotel about 20 years ago and he was cracking, the following year Roger De Courcey and he made Jim seem pretty PC much to our amazement. These were all male do's of 500 people things changed after that. Jim

Reginald D Hunter is very good at off the cuff but might possibly not be popular amongst the older "home from abroaders".

Another flying related speaker is
paul.catanach@btinternet.com

He spent many years as a bush pilot in Australia before returning to the UK and now flies as part of a team crewing an ultra luxury business jet for a very wealthy British family.

He is a born raconteur, very funny and brings it all alive. He charges only travel costs. Please contact him for moor details.

Years since I've seen him Rob. Have the LP and a CD somewhere.
Was home on leave when they showed a part of said speech on, I think, C4 (part of the "Venture" series?).

Back to a motoring theme,

How about John Watson as a speaker and then an interview with Mike Costin.

It's Mikes 90th birthday around the time of the Victory Run.

Given that Watson's era was dominated by the DFV and he would probably know Mike, it could be fascinating to get some insights into the Formula One world of that time.
