Saw an original at Chantilly Arts & Elegance in 2017, truly a thing of beauty and elegant lines

After standing outside all night it was very reluctant to start for the Concours judges and the owner was a little worried as it looked like some points deduction may happen

We just stood and looked on in awe as they had to open the bonnet to tweak something, for a few minutes it was like paparazzi round a supermodel

I saw Ralph Lauren's 57sc atlantic coupé close up and in detail at an exhibition at the Louvre of some of his collection. An absolute jewel of a car, truly the crossover of automotive engineering and art.

Owner is Peter Mullin, I was also there.

Keep in mind that there are only 3 Bugatti type 57S Atlantic in the world (4 were build).

I love that car, a pure form of art.
Cheers,

Awesome car. I remember watching a US TV series where a replica was being built. They used photographs to get as much detail as possible. the end result was a stunning car.

Jacques, thanks for posting the photos as I can't find my disc at the moment, I think I managed to get some shots of the engine bay too

A charming car

But I can’t help thinking that if we didn’t know it was an extremely rare Bugatti and the provenance and quality that surrounds it, on purely aesthetic grounds, wouldn’t we view it as a rather ugly oddity?
