Guess you aren't near the W. Midlands then. Paul Harris Tyres near the Belfry - 79 miles away for me, but that's where I get my Vredesteins. He's a classic car (and other vehicles) owner, including a very nice Morgan. Knows his wire wheel balancing! smile

Bit far for Paul Harris then smile
I'm sure someone down that way will know a suitable tyre fitter.

I own a 4/4 Sport 2014 and changed the tyres from Conti's to Vredestein Sprint Classic, but one size bigger, 185x70x15. Gives a much better roadholding also in wet weather. You have to use the special blocks on your rear axle to move the axle back by 19 mm, otherwise the tyre touches the fender.

I replaced the original Conti's on my 2011 4/4 last year with Hankook - OPTIMO K715 165/80 R15 87T. Inexpensive and I have been very happy with their performance although I never drive the car hard.

OZ 4/4, the Hankook Optimo K715 is described as a good tyre and it is still available in Australian area in the right size for the 4/4. When I have a look, it seems that there is not many more to choose from in this size when looking at Australian tyre dealer websites. In the past a bit more active TM member Richard of Australia also had the Hankook Optimo and was very pleased.

In Europe it is still available but no longer offered in 165/80/15. We have the Hankook Kinergy Eco 2 (K435) in the right size but which seems to be more a planet saver tyre and Hankook itself describes the Optimo as a more performance orientated tyre on their website.
There is no guarantie how long a good tyre is available in the needed size in ones part of the world. especially in the size 165/80/15.
E.g. the Vredestein TTrac2 was not availabe in this size for around 2 years and since half a year it is back again.

You are right Heinz, the Hankook 165/80/15 is one of very few I could find in Australia and I know Richard has been very pleased with them on his 4/4 4 seater. For me, so far so good, very happy with them.

At the moment I have CR6ZZ on my 2011 4/4. When I change them i’d Like to go for the Michelin x climate tyres. (The Avon’s are **expensive) but I see the michelins’ only come in 175/65/15. Where as the avons’ are 175/70/15. I gues they will fit but how well. Any comments.
Thanks.

I would say the car could come too low. But let’s wait what others think.
