I was watching a show on car wrapping last night and they were doing a McLaren MP4-12C.

The battery went flat so they got a quote for a new one - £2,700 plus VAT and the car has to go back to McLaren to be reprogrammed for the new battery scared

Fortunately for them it turned out to be a problem with the trickle charger and they got the original battery back to life.

Makes the £200 battery for my old F355 look a bargain wine

Add in insurance £1k service £2k and depreciation £10k and you get an annual running cost close to £20k. On a second hand car costing £100k that is simply not feasible.

Same applies to Ferrari, Lambo, Bentley and many others....go to Zonda, Pagani or other Hyper car...and the £20k can go north of £50K.

Or you could buy a Suzuki Swift rofl

Doesnt apply to Ferrari. In recent years its been appreciation not depreciation once past the first couple of years and the service on the latest models is free for 7 years.

Direct from a Ferrari Forum:

"We estimated Ferrari 458 models on average depreciate 29 percent in the first three years when new"
