Good point Simon. I have a home made tracking tool which I made about 30 years ago, so I'll be checking it out before the first outing. A good indicator is how straight the steering wheel is, compared to 'before'.

Well, I braved -3c this morning - well wrapped up, and with the half tonneau in place. There was ice on the canal as I drove past. I managed 42 miles, and the first time out since the end of October. What a transformation to the steering. It's hard to describe what a difference it's made, especially low speed corners and junctions, but the steering is now MUCH lighter. There's also no wobble and no vibration. It's astonishing. So you should all beat a path to Peter Mulberry's, and get yourselves some steering bearings and shorter springs. And while you're at it, fit hard chrome kingpins. (No connection - just a satisfied customer). http://www.mulfab.co.uk/our-products/9/steering-suspension/steering-bearing-kitAND I was waved at by an old guy in a LWB Land Rover.

Um.....well Frank, as you know, my competition credentials could be better................. Do I detect a modicum of interest in Mkll Gaiters? If so there may be some delay. Plus the fact that I don't have very much soft supple leather available. But I've added them to the list for future use.

Dave, your explanations are excellent. As a soon to be Morgan owner (1week to go) I have read with interest many of your how to's and find them inspiring. If you ever put any of your work on YouTube I have no doubt it would be compelling viewing.

Thanks 62TC - glad you find my ramblings useful. Not sure about U-Tube....... Maybe when I retire I'll get more time.
