I think the police driver has a death wish also - crazy on all fronts.

I didn't enjoy it like the patrol car knocking the scum off their scooters, that was good and served a purpose without endangering other innocent road users.

I do wish there was some form of remote disable for cars. They could then wait for a clear stretch of road and just blat the engine. It would be safer if they could secure it carefully. It would be nice for it to be fitted to a few people as well.

And lock all the doors & windows and jam the seatbelts, to stop 'em doing a runner

Remote disable sounds good....in the right hands! Anticipating where to get a stinger was not easy.
In our police ops room our inspector monitored all pursuits. A running commentary was incoming from the pursuit car giving location, direction, speed, road conditions etc.. The inspector would stop the pursuit if it was getting hairy.
A helicopter above helps but not always available and expensive! We had training flights in ours so we had a better idea of what was involved from the crew’s viewpoint. Awesome!
We had a couple of pursuits called off...speeds too high for the road/location.
In the video posted the driver was aptly named...Shady Coates!
