My wife and I got caught in a severe shower this morning and after 13 yrs of top up top down motoring decided to put the roof back down after the shower without undoing the wheel tensioner or the fastner's. The result, ripped the faster passanger side out quite cleanly the drivers side took the fabric plus about a quarter of an inch of ply wood. What a donkey we could have driven home with the top up like every other Mx5 owner but no its a Morgan top down is a must. Anybody else done similar or am I the only spanner .

I would hate to say you are a spanner aerotaff, that sort of mistake is in the wings waiting for all of us at some time.

One of a number of potentially damaging actions available to any unwary Morgan owner!

The one that sticks in my mind was the owner of a Plus 4, I met a few years ago.
He was trying to remove a head restraint, which was requiring some effort.
On it releasing from the seat, he failed to have a secure grip.
The head restraint flew into the air, before landing, stem first, on the rear panel!

Sorry this happened Em, we are all just a step away from these sort of happenings and they make you feel mad at yourself I know.

Five cut down cocktail sticks and some epoxy in the voids the fastners are back on Rich . The material around the fastner looked a bit manky anyway a job for a later date. The car is now water tightish ready for the Devon rain....Ha.
