I guess you have checked to see if Tarka and the new yellow peril clash when parked next to each other ? Looks like fun. The new A certainly seems to have moved the game on.

It's funny how people tend to like either BMW or MB. I never understood it but these days I do having run a couple of BM's and MB's. Friends rave about the more dynamic feel of the BM over the MB but I just find them a bit agitating, admittedly it tends to be the sporty models I have been in.

It's probably too late now that it is on order, but did you look at the Golf 'R' before you chose the MB? Not as down market as you might think, very fast and very accomplished, and effectively in disguise, as to most people it is 'just another Golf' but it's a real sleeper.

I've had mine for 3 years now and still love it and get a kick everytime I take it out, even if it's just into town. They are available for in the very low £30k's too. Why spend more?

Yellow is a great colour, it will ensure you will be seen from miles away...........

I did try, but the nearest VAG dealer with an R is in Southampton...
Also, I was slightly seduced by the all glass dashboard. About as un-Morgan as it is possible to be..so far!

The big advantage of the colour is I'll find it in car parks...

Incredible performance. It isn't that long ago that Porsche 911's were doing similar 0-60 times.

I’ve yet to have a yellow car, there was a while they were all pastel shades and not something I’d go for, but I would go for that vibrant, strong hue. IfI ever buy another Lotus, it’s going to be in yellow.

It replaces the BMW M140. Why replace the M140?
I tired of the harsh ride and unsupportive seats.
The wheel control and associated ride quality compromised traction: over sprung, under damped resulted in the traction control cutting in on hard acceleration, even on a straight road, unless the road surface was almost perfect and dry.

I looked at spending £3700 on the highly regarded Birds Performance pack. this comprises new springs and specially valved dampers plus a Quaife LSD.
But a back to back test drive convinced me that although it improved the wheel control substantially it didn't make the ride any nicer.

Also, the Management hated the car and refused to use it unless there was no option.

The new C35 is the entry model AMG, a new engine from MB, 2.0L and 306 HP. They claim 4.4.7 seconds to 62mph, which is quick enough.

More importantly Management likes it, and the monthly cost is not much more than the M140.

Thoughts anyone.

Sorry much prefer the BMW....

The BMW is rear wheel drive, has a great great engine and compared to BMW the two Merc's I have owned have had real quality concerns.

Peter you will miss that engine tumbleweed

White, Red or yellow??

I'd go for the yellow as well given the choices I think.

Apparently its a popular colour with the "pink pound" - most yellow cars my friend ( ok he does work at a Brighton dealership) sells go to same sex couples...

But than the great DaveW has a yellow car so I'm sure it'll be fine! Should stand out well from all the greys and blacks out there too.

The BMW or Merc question will rage for ever I expect. Personally I'm in the BMW camp but its all down to personal taste I guess - and how good the local dealership is as well.

PS. That yellow would look stunning with gloss black wheels.
