I hear that the successor to BMW's M140i (six cylinder car) will be called M130i.
This new baby BMW will be making up to 300hp from a 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder engine.
it will be transversely mounted and 4WD.
So competing head on with the Golf R and AMG A35.
Driving the M140 is, to be honest, a bit like like driving a Roadster 3.7 but everything happens faster. The traction, on anything but a perfect road, is compromised by rear suspension that works best when the car is fully loaded. One up the wheels skip, the traction control cuts in and it feels quite unsettling. I don't like it, which is why it is going.
The engine is simply wonderful though. Just too much for the chassis- or this driver-
