I hear that the successor to BMW's M140i (six cylinder car) will be called M130i.

This new baby BMW will be making up to 300hp from a 2.0 turbo 4 cylinder engine. shocked2

Lifting the Plus 4 to more than Roadster levels of performance. That's why they need the new tub wink

This 2L turbo 4 engine would certainly spice up the plus 4 and the new tub could handle the extra power .

So are Morgan aiming to turn the classic models into mini Caterhams with this change? That would be interesting and a significant change. I could well be wrong as I am an Aero owner but I thought a lot of the Trad's attraction was the authentic driving experience and involvement?

Even the less expensive models could use the iL-3 BME engine which uses similar mounts and engineering and see 150hp to provide great performance and less weight.

Can't wait to see what comes out of Geneva for all points of the range, "trad" and "Aero". I never got why they called it an Aero given the barn door with draughts shape. oops Just happy they did!

Yes, and shocked2 it will be transversely mounted and 4WD.
So competing head on with the Golf R and AMG A35.

Driving the M140 is, to be honest, a bit like like driving a Roadster 3.7 but everything happens faster. The traction, on anything but a perfect road, is compromised by rear suspension that works best when the car is fully loaded. One up the wheels skip, the traction control cuts in and it feels quite unsettling. I don't like it, which is why it is going.

The engine is simply wonderful though. Just too much for the chassis- or this driver- hide

Stop being naughty.

Basically then, a Smart Roadster with a Morgan body on it!
If it's as much fun as my Smart was it would be a good fun car.
Handling brilliant too.

I don't think I want a Plus 4 with 300bhp. What is the point, you can already buy a roadster with as much power as you could reasonably enjoy.
