We have recently moved from Bucks to Pulborough, West Sussex. Would be grateful for any recommendations for MoT and service in the area (say within 1 hour drive) for our 1997 Plus 8. Thanks for any help....
Cheers

Welcome to lovely West Sussex! I use Joe at Toat Hill garage near Broadbridge Heath. He's sensible and doesn't fail you for having a cracked rear reflector, unlike the guys at Dunsfold.

I take all my cars their and never had a problem as he seems to like car enthusiasts and know if anything is slightly wrong, you are likely to sort it out rather than ignore it until next time.

Mike, from Rudgwick....

Welcome to Sunny Sussex Nick.

I would second the advice to use BHM for service - we have used them for twenty years, and friends of ours did as well, and still do even though they have moved to the south of France so their annual service involves a 1000+ mile round trip!

And if you are around tomorrow the MSCC Brighton Cente has a lunchtime meeting at the Greyhound, Cocking near Midhurst. But if you do come ask the pub if they can add your places to the tables already reserved by the centre.

i use Prettys Garage in Partridge Green for MOT for my M3W. A good old school garage and very friendly.

For dealer servicing then Bell & Covil at West Moesley (between Leatherhead and Guildford) are superb. Phil is the Service manager there and will be happy to help.

An hour's drive? Got to be BHM, I've been going there for 15 years, not quite as long as Quentin, lovely people, bought our 4/4 from them and have never looked back. Come to the BHM track day at Goodwood on the 23rd May, not far from you at all and there should be a good turn out from the Morgan Historic Register as well.

I am not far from Petworth and use Bell & Colvill. The guys there, whilst being relatively new to Morgan, definitely go the extra mile to sort out any issues. My +8 was supplied by them and they have had to deal with a few complex issues - which they've done really well. B&C have a very rich history in race preparing Lotus cars, so they are not frightened of any job.

BHM are excellent too - they know more about Morgans than just about anyone. But they're too far away for me (a miserable M25 jaunt) and besides which, I like B&C. smile

Nick, you are not that far from me - I drive down to Lancing regularly in the spring and summer in my +8. I shall look out for you! smile

Many thanks to all who responded to my query. Consensus appears to be go local for the MoT and either BMH or Bell and Colvill for more major service (for me, probably try BHM as they did such a good track day at Goodwood last year).

Great to hear the locals are friendly down here! I’ll keep in touch . Nick
