It's my car's MOT test on Monday, so I decided to give it a check over to make sure everything is working as it should.

Once underneath it I realised my little inspection lamp wasn't really up to the job, so I had a flash of inspiration. LED lighting battens are all plastic bodied and don't need to be earthed, and so as I had a spare one lying around it was the work of a moment to connect it to a spare length of 2-core cable and stick a plug on the end.

Voila! a 5-foot long inspection lamp that creates a huge area of shadowless light. Just the job.

Tim. You probably know this keep an eye on where the rear bumper bars bolt to the chassis. On my old +8 I found some serious rust between them, needing some professional welding to put right.

Yep, I had a new chassis in 2011. There's plenty of Dynax S50 sprayed over the area, and I do indeed get under the car a few times a year to check.
