According to a recent Go Compare survey these are the most at risk professions for getting a speeding conviction.

Member of Parliament 22.10%
Radio Presenter 19.20%
Sales Director 18.90%
Managing Director 17.70%
Operations Director 17.40%
Bailiff 16.70%
Money Broker 16.60%
Company Chairman 16.60%
Surgeon 16.50%

Thankfully, I am not one of these.

Van Drivers are obviously good at avoiding being caught.

None of the above now includes me, thankfully now retired.
However, when I was working I was a stickler for punctuality and it did cost me a few pounds getting to appointments on time through speeding tickets over the years. Obviously, when I was actually pulled in I ended up being late as well as poorer!
Nowadays, with modern technology at the Police’s behest there is little point in taking the risk. Two years ago I was very nearly caught by a mobile camera near Yeovil after setting off for Edinburgh. I hadn’t been driving particularly fast but had just overtaken a vehicle and was slowing back down to 60mph when I spotted the camera. I wasn’t too sure whether or not I had been caught as I was slowing back down and braking HARD at the time and ducking in behind a BMW which was just ahead of me. I think, with hindsight, that he probably got the ticket and saved me by obscuring my number plate from the camera. But, I didn’t know that at the time and I spent the rest of the 450 mile journey over 8 hours worrying about whether I had been caught and thinking of the implications. As I have 5 vehicles registered in my name I would have to declare the points to my insurers and they would hike my premiums by about £30 which would mean an extra £150 pa over 5 years on top of the fine itself.
So, since then I have been particularly careful as the consequences are just not worth it. I do love to drive my car fast but do so on track days with five booked for this year. I also have a racing simulator on which I can drive as fast as I like without worrying about cameras or, indeed, crashing the car spectacularly, which I do often!

I drove British sports cars for a number of years when I was much younger and received many speed and some totally ridiculous violations. When I switched to driving a very souped up VW van ,which could go as fast, I received no further attention from law enforcement.

16.6% apparently.

I have been banned for speeding in my younger days - but am now much more sedate. Oh, and Waze. smile
