A small group of us ( maybe 4 or 5 cars ) usually have a three day weekend away every year, and we are looking for suggestions for a suitable pub / hotel this year. The format is to book accommodation at the same place for the three nights and then to have days out on decent driving roads and with visits to places of interest.

Anywhere in the UK but Wales, the south west, south east, maybe yorkshire preferred. Decent safe off street carparking

Suggestions?

Powdermills Hotel in Battle - very strong Morgan connections as it was restored about 30/40 years ago by the late Douglas Cowpland, HFS's nephew. Loads of interest in the region, Battle Abbey, Bodium Castle, Chris Booth's Morgan Museum at Rolvendon, Dover Castle and quite a few Battle of Britain related museums and sites.

We had the group of French Morgans staying there last month and some said they would have preferred to stay there for the rest of the trip.

Quentin

And the hotel does good food!

Riverdale Hall, Bellingham looked after a larger group very well last year to the point where we are going back this year.
