Might as well ask the collective.

I know that Stewart will have some worthwhile advice.

First of all I wear socks, and have no intention of ever abandoning my sockishness.

I tend to go for black, with coloured toes/heels etc so they can easily be paired.

The thing is, they don't last long before they get holes. I usually get my socks from John Lewis or similar, but I do get fed up with how little use it takes to get holes - just a few months.

When I was commuting daily by train I had a similar problem with shoes, which didn't last at all well.....but that problem is in the past.

So...what is the sock solution? Who knows where I can get long lasting socks???

Dare I say that you might be chasing the wrong problem without meaning to be rude.

If the darn things are wearing out perhaps the issue with the pointyness of ones feet and it would be better have the hooves filed once in a while ?
Foot skin softener allows the crunchie bits to be removed allowing them to feel better and the socks to last longer?

Just time to burn a little more petrol before dinner.

Really! Next you will be telling us you wear a vest.....even in summer! redcard
idea
If the trimming/pedicure fails then just reduce the “toe curling” incidents/experiences.

Dave

I recommend Rohan socks...they do a cool version for summer use.

I have been using Rohan clothing since 1976..quality stuff..never worn anything out ,ripped or damaged zips.

However sockless with some stylish leather loafers is the COOL look !!!!

You could paint your feet if they are unsightly !!!

xx

Neoprene socks, my Son and girlfriend wear them for surfing every day down Newquay, just buy larger shoes and Dave's your uncle problem solved.

Yeah, but it does make said loafers a bit ripe! Personally I will always go for the comfort of socks, unless I am wearing sandals. Can't stand the look of shorts and long (or worse short) socks with sandals.

In Australia I always bought Marino wool socks. They lasted well, were not too heavy for year round use, and were very comfortable. Unfortunately they don't seem to be available in Europe and I have to settle for cotton. For all I know with the decline of the Australian wool industry decent wool socks may no longer be available in Oz these days.

I bought two pairs of "Indestructible Socks" from an agricultural merchant in the early 1980s and I'm still using them nearly 40 years later.

I wished I'd bought more but I think the company went bust.

Incidentally, isn't it easier to pair socks if they are all the same colour? That's my system.
