Today I reattached the body to the chassis, after completing the wiring loom.

Here's the front end. Top to bottom...I've added (shiny) Reflect-a-cool to tidy up the look. The hazard lights colour code is yellow. You can see the new spun aluminium headlamp reflectors. The colour code for headlamps and rear lamps is red. Earth return is black. Lower left is a leather covered aluminium bracket which holds the hazard switch. Lower right is a black blob, which is original and retains the horn push, which I left in place.

Here's the rear section. Most of the wiring is concealed between the body moulding and the inner cockpit moulding. The spare wheel fixings are now stainless steel, and I lined the panel edge with U channel neoprene. Look closely and you'll see that the wheel cut out is very slightly off from the six o'clock position.

This image shows the sidelights on, and the edging I added to the spare wheel recess. You can also see the wing beading.

This is how it looks under the bonnet with a slimline 12 battery and orange flasher unit..(two terminals).

Headlights on. Front bumper in place. New cowl badge. Lower trim fitted to grille. Cowl & wing beading added. Bonnet fastener buttons added.

I wondered how it was going.
Don't mean to be picky but the horn casing needs a polish Dave! smile
Nick

PS Why not turn this into a business? This will be more handcrafted than a real one.......

The horn was a dilemma, whether to keep the original or replace it with a modern one. In the end I kept the original, but it has "patina" and won't polish, unless I sand it hard back and polish it, so for now...Patina it is.

A business? Not very viable as it's taken ages to get this far and sourcing bits and pieces, although cheap as chips, takes ages!

Go stand in the corner Kev............... grin2

So today I finished off the rear bumper. Initially I was going to add a couple of brackets between my chassis extensions, and the back of the bumper mountings, but it seems strong enough to be OK without.

The bumper is a flat piece of aluminium, cut and bent to shape. I just couldn't get the gentle curved profile of the front bumper, but it will do the job and protect the rear if he hits anything hard.

For comparison purposes, here's how it looked in standard trim.
