I imported 12 cars from the USA between 2013 and 2015. This was partly associated with major risks. It went really well eleven times. Once I was really cheated. I had fewer photos of this car and trusted the dealer who had sold me three good cars before.
In retrospect, I'm smarter. He had offered me the car before he had offered it to the whole world. I felt honored. Now I know that he would never have offered this car to the whole world.
Normally I saw about 130 photos of each car. From below, without wheels, the brake system, everything etc. You have the advantage that the MGA is already here in Europe.

Take a close look, preferably with expert guidance. I grant you the car from the bottom of my heart, but after I have learned to listen to my inner voice when looking at the photos, I would be a little careful with "your" MGA. In the lower right corner the door looks as if it is not flush with the body.

Two photos of the body are of course far too little to say anything. But I notice two things. The paint looks thick and like a glaze that they have poured over everything. The gap dimensions of the bonnet and the door. If it were a Porsche (11 out of 12 cars I bought were Porsches), I wouldn't buy it by looking at the gap dimensions of the MGA door.

I can be very wrong, so please examine the car intensively with an expert at your side. Here in the forum other participants have profound knowledge of an MGA. I don't have it, but I have a feeling for photos. But maybe I am completely wrong.

BTW there is one thing that always looks good on US cars, no matter how good the car itself is. These are the wheels. And the wheels can always be an emotional influence.

Thank you all. I'll be careful and I'll have a good test drive.
No big pressure to get this special car but I'm on the search for a 1958 production.
I have recently decided against a TR3 which was in questionable conditions

I love a TR3 (in good condition) but I am biased.

I bought a 1958 Red MGA Disk Wheels brand new. Just graduated from College, I was 28. It was My daily driver and I drove it skiing almost weekly during skiing season. It came with Dunlap Gold Seal tires. I was soon to change it to Michelin "X" radials. As I was in the snow I used chains but they were 4 on a belt. It was a constant problem. After about 5 years I changed to a VW Beetle. I drove VW Beetles for 40 years ending up with a 1978 Champagne Edition Convertible. All I really remember was I could not get the SU's in sinc and I would need to use a heavy tool to keep the fuel pump clicking. I really wish I had bought a TR3 or if I knew they were available a Morgan +4.

Wishing you good luck with this one Richard. Or better than luck, wishing you an MGA in excellent condition. The colour is close to your Morgan red - oder?

A couple of years ago during my Mog’s MOT there was an MGA in the garage. I saw the jobs needed list... scared
Several rust issues and general old car wear and tear. It was in for work and MOT.
Last week I saw it out being driven.....I remembered the badges/front end look.

I've only been driven in one MGA. It was a late series 2. I was never that interested in MGAs. This car had been properly restored. Body off, the lot. It was dark blue with a biscuit interior, and the owner took me across the Yorkshire Wolds, on a bright summers day.

It was a revelation. No scuttle shake, no rattles, crisp performance, sharp handling, lovely exhaust note.

In terms of exceeding my expectations, no other car has come close. It was amazing, in the context of its design and age.

I'm not the world's best photographer and I missed the bonnet louvres which set the car off and would of course get anyone on this frum excited.

I took my first drivers test for a license in an MGA 1600 Coupe. What a fun car that was! It does however require lots of battery maintenance.

Howard. Your photos are excellent, the site they are hosted on not so! Mrs. W. was standing behind me when I clicked the first one and was not impressed.

Nice car anyway, thanks for posting the thumbnails!
