Hello everyone!

I'm about to order my new 3-Wheeler, and one of the options that attires my attention is the footwell storage box.

This box doesn't look very accesible (unless you're a contortionist) as it's theorically placed deep in the co-pilot's leg room. So I'm thinking about it as a not-used-everyday-stuff box such as tools (or the classic anti tank mine and hammer we all like to play with after leaving the pub).

But I have doubts…

FIRST: at MMC they say the leg room is enormous so the footwell storage box also helps the copilot to have a place to rest the feet, but I'm 1,82 m tall and will sometimes seat as co-pilot (yes, my wife is a hell of a driver and would never allow me to buy the 3 wheeler if she's not planning to pilot it too!) so I'm not so sure this is 100% true and I'll find myself fold as a medicine leaflet...

SECOND: if I install the footwell storage box, we might lose room for another luggage such a backpack or similar bag.

Can you please help me to clarify my doubts! Is the footwell storage box really useful? Opinions and advices welcome!

Thanks in advance and best regards

I looked at one but could not see the point. They are small, expensive and, as you say, difficult to access. Ditto for the tiny and over-tight side pockets.

If you trawl through this forum you will see that several owners have produced more practical storage solutions.

I ordered it, and subsequently removed it. It significantly reduces passenger leg room, for no good reason, as the storage space is limited, and nearly inaccessible. On the other hand, it is a nicely made box! Mine is currently sitting in the garage with my thoughts to eventually mount it up under the bonnet for some secured storage. It will fit there as it turns out.

Waste of money and more irritating than useful. Without it, there is plenty of room to stuff a bag down the foot-well which works much better!

I would suggest a better option is the glove box with the new dashboard option!

Expensive but practical and wish I had ordered it.

It’s not really useful as a storage box, however my wife really likes it as a it gives her extra leg support.

I have it and like it. Relatively inexpensive and allows you a place to put your goods and paperwork so it doesn't walk off.

How about a firearm storage box? They are flat, lockable and might fit just in front of the seat and would be tough enough to stand on.

I was bought one as a Christmas present for my M3W. Not too much of a problem fitting it although no fixings provided. First time I used it the glued on lockable door fell off. Re-engineered it myself with pop rivets. Can't remember ever using it again due to poor access.
