Very nice, but I'm not sure I see the point, the original works fine doesn't it?

My reaction too, but if it is shiny you know how these boys like to spend spend wink Unless it makes it go faster it's not for me and hey I have a 10 stud roof anyway..

If it's Morgan Park it will be a quality item for sure.

Same reason as: Wood-stearingwheel, wood dashboard, leather Interieur, wire wheels, alloy wheels ......
thumbs πŸ˜‰

And I forgot: Also for those few cars with a broken handle. πŸ˜‰

The Morgan ist in my opinion a "Design ikon". So each part used from a modern car disturbs me!

By the way: I still have the ugly modern opener.... pantsdown

Yes I do understand it's just that I am one of the few that prefer to keep the car exactly as it came out of the factory, if I want it to go a little faster I remove the luggage rack and spare wheel wink thumbs

I agree with you about the original handle they do look a bit British Leylandish.

On my 4/4 it does - but only if I have a travelling companion who can push down hard on the sprung lugs on the rear hood rail at the same time as I pull the lever. Otherwise (solo) the lever bends so much that it is on the verge of snapping. So I can see the merit in this stronger metal lever.

No, it is a bad design, and implemented with a leaver that is not robust enough for its task.
I am on my 2nd lever, 1st one broke.
Also the release at the other end of the cable is not robust.
The whole mechanism could do wt an upgrade.
The Morgan Park device is shiny, but lever looks to protrude a bit too much.

Nope, the old S1 Roadster wasn't too bad but the 3.7 despite being the same mechanism, is frankly a PitA, if I'm doing a solo trip it's almost impossible to release (either a blood vessel or the handle is going to go pop one day)

And yes, it's been stripped, greased, aligned, tweaked, cursed, re-aligned, pins bent, catch 'shutters' tweaked, & another curse for luck swear

The rear release works easier if you unlatch the windscreen end and two side tenax buttons first when folding the hood down, and latch the back last thing when erecting the roof
