It seems that the new CX cars are pre-wired by MMC to take a tracking/immobiliser system, much like the Mercedes ME system.
Through a phone App you can locate your car and if needed, take control of the ignition so when the car next stops the engine cuts out and cannot be re-started.
The company, www.globaltelemetrics.com are approved by MMC to fit their systems and the fitters have access to Morgan wiring loom details so older cars can also be fitted.
The system complies with Thatcham S5 specifications.

I'm planning to have one fitted to Tarka in the early spring,
It will open up more insurance options.
And if nothing else it will mean that I can find the car in a field, for example at the Revival Meeting!!

Peter,

finding it in a field sounds good.

In view of Tarka's colour, I can't believe that's much of an issue !!

If all you want to do is return to your car just drop a marker on the phone app when you leave it. You don't need anything fitted in the car!

Well I've been trying a little experiment which probably has no scientific basis at all. I've been putting the key into the ignition with the small number on the key facing towards me. I haven't had a single starting failure in the last six months using this method. It's probably more superstition than science but it works.

To be honest, mine's been fine since I started using the Ctek battery conditioner. Even so, I'm still wondering whether it'll start almost every time I turn the key!
