Our friend Jeremy Bourne's brother, Judge Ian Bourne QC, sentenced them to jail.
From The Daily Telegraph:
A MOPED mugger who tried to rob two Arsenal stars of their luxury watches has been jailed for 10 years.
Judge Ian Bourne QC praised left back Sead Kolašinac, who is nicknamed “The Tank”, for behaving “incredibly bravely” when he fought off two robbers armed with knives, a screwdriver and a knitting needle.
Mr Kolašinac, 26, who is Bosnian, was a passenger in his team-mate Mesut Özil’s black Mercedes jeep when they were ambushed in Hampstead, north London in July.
CCTV footage shows Mr Kolašinac jumping out of the passenger seat of Mr Ozil’s £165,000 car to confront Jordan Northover, 26, and Ashley Smith, 30, his accomplice.
Northover jabbed at Mr Kolašinac with the weapon as Mr Ozil’s terrified wife watched from the car.
Mr Ozil, 31, sped away down the wrong side of the road, taking refuge at a Turkish restaurant.
Smith, of Archway, north London, previously pleaded guilty to robbing the two Arsenal footballers at Harrow Crown Court. He attempted to mask his face with a blue scarf as he appeared in court yesterday via video-link.
Jailing him, Judge Ian Bourne, QC, said: “The two of them hadn’t counted on Mr Kolašinac fighting back and he behaved incredibly bravely with knives pointed in his direction at a time when he knew he was in possession of extremely valuable items.”
Northover, who also admitted attempted robbery, will be sentenced at a later date.
