For the NEC show I had a pull-up banner made by Needabanner (Dannells ) but when I got it the club web address was wrong - my fault for not reading the proof properly.
After the show I mentioned that the pull-up had been very useful and that I`d noticed the mistake and covered it up with paper & plastic. They contacted me to say that if I could return the banner they would reprint FOC. Also they told me how to release the incorrect banner so it could be cannibalised and reused by the club. Today the pull-up returned in a new cassette with a new carrier bag. It is good to know that there are some companies who value customers rather than immediate profit. happy3This cheered me up - so in these dark days of political backbiting and point scoring I pass it on in the hope that it will brighten your day as it did mine.

Thats a nice message.

An error is a problem but when you recover from it you make a customer for life. Thats a keeper thanks for sharing..

Just time to burn a little more petrol before dinner.

That’s great news.

It’s lovely to hear about companies like that.

BTW - if anyone needs any of the aluminium poles that hold up roller banners, I have a collection. I couldn’t bring myself to discard them when I scrapped a load of banners on the winding up of a business partnership with a thieving scumbag who failed to pay their share of a conference.

That's really nice to hear .

I once did some work for a stonemason , he told me he always asked for two or preferably 3 copies of anything to be carved onto gravestones , ideally confirmed by different members of the family . He was amazed by how often people got things wrong .

My daily bread is spent dealing with what is nowadays, a poorly performing supply chain

I often have to remind suppliers that they are 'only as good as the last poor job you did' as the client never remembers the good ones

Reminds me of a story from God`s own county about a gravestone on which was the legend "She was Thine" however it ended us as "She Was Thin". The husband complained and said that the "E" was missing upon which the stonemason agreed to correct. Upon visiting the grave the stone now read "Eee, She Was Thin"

A good old one!. Here's another:

A Yorkshireman goes to a goldsmiths and asks, "Can tha mek us a gold statue o'me whippet?" The goldsmith says he can, then asks: "Do you want it 18 carat?"
The man replies :"Nay lad, chewin' a bone'll do fine."

And you know that Robert Mugabe was a backward Yorkshireman.

And of course Yorkshire Airlines Advert https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPjJFv1NDBg

Taking about Yorkshire and backward men.

Did you know that Trebor mints are now made in Yorkshire and was named by reversing the name of one of it's founders. One Robert Robertson.
