On our way back from evening stable duties today (around 16:30) we were following a car with rear lights that looked a bit familiar. Never got close enough to read a registration but a bump in the road caused our lights to illuminate the rear end well enough to enable confirmation of model.

So, who was driving a silver Aeromax from East Leake to Costock this afternoon - anyone on here?

I wonder if maybe it was Malcolm he is a year round user, he came on our recent Haynes/Yeovilton TM visit in tipping rain in his Max.?

It would be nice to know of some Aeromax's with big miles on, i suspect most have ended up as Garage Queens.

I coverd 18000mls in the 2 year ownership of mine.

We bought the Coupe from the factory in 09/2013 with about 7,000 miles on it and it now has 33,000 so it's not a total garage queen. Having said that this year was quiet.

Just time to burn a little more petrol before dinner.

We bought the Plus 8 from the factory in 2014 with 12,000 miles on it and now it has 42,000, so certainly not a garage queen.
Up to know it has been very cheap to run, but it has just had the front upright ball joints replaced, so an expensive service. But that should be it for another 20,000 until the spark plugs need changing at 60,000.

Hi Richard,

Yes I am a year round user, but not me this time (the Aeromax is nicely tucked up in its newly purchased Airchamber) as we are in Malta for a Christmas break returning to the UK today. On mileage i cannot compete with Alistair, I acquired the car ~4 years ago with ~7K on the clock and it is now just over 20K.

Regards

Malcolm

Hi Malcolm,

I just wondered if it might be you, it seems like you and your Aeromax had a nice dry Christmas a very good idea on both counts.
Best Wishes to you and your good lady for the New Year.

I always love seeing your Aeromax Malcolm. When we went on the little trip that Peter kindly organised It was great watching it in the mirror and seeing what others see when we are out and about in the Coupe and S2 to a lesser extent. I hope you are enjoying Malta, I keep meaning to take the good lady wife there. Best wishes for all those out and about this year.
