MMC has confirmed that the CX platform is versatile enough to allow for a new four-seater, but no concrete model plans have been made yet.

Indeed, interesting. I had a 4 seater and always liked them. So how would they do that on the CX platform? Extended wheelbase, the so called “long body” type? BTW, dropped my Roadster off at dealer for service and NL’s version of MOT. To my surprise they had several plus 6s, so sat in demonstrator with hood on, headspace seemed a little less compared to my Roadster. I truly would like to have the chair lowered. They also had a beautiful one in dark blue, (the best colour on many cars...). On this car it was clear that the plus 6 has a higher stance than the other classic Mogs on display.

I don’t think they would need to extend the wheel base All the old 4 seaters were on exactly the same size trad chassis as the 2 seaters

What would the rear seat height be and how would they pass testing?

My understanding is that it was the cost of developing and homologating the modern child car seat fixing that killed the 4 Seater. All 4 seater cars must have the ISOFIX fittings. I cannot believe that there is a market for a 4 seater morgan large enough to make this model viable.

I thought the Trad 4 seater was finally cancelled due to the legislation coming in.
I must admit I did watch a 4 seater with 4 people make a run up the track at Shelsley Walsh and thinking the people in the back were looking a bit brave!
Everyone loves a Morgan. Even me, unless it's broken again.

It was the legislation behind the ISOFIX fittings killed the 4 seater, I was told.

Really enjoyed my 2008 +4 4 seater. I delayed the order in 07 to get the revised front end geometry, a good pal took delivery of his in Sept 07 and they were very different.
No intention of ever putting anything but luggage in the back but as we had a Swedish touring holiday planned in 08 it gave us masses of luggage space. We drove there except for a ferry from Germany to Gothenburg but drove all the way back as I wanted to see the bridges over to Denmark.
Only good feelings with that car (once rear spring fiasco sorted) not so much as a light bulb failed. One of the most user friendly Morgan’s I have owned, we met many people with 4 seat Morgans who like us had bought them solely for the touring capacity.

Seconded - before I bought mine I deliberated between a two and a four seater. I came to the decision that if I was going to go anywhere with limited luggage, I was more likely to take a motorbike, so the 4 seater would be a better choice and allow me to use her for longer (comfortable) holidays and camping trips (and it transpires - trips to the supermarket!). The modification I made to the rear (allowing me to remove rear seat cushions for a rubber lined load bed) made it even more useful.
