Howard, I will reiterate, I was just using the vast reach of TM to get some idea of what our fellow American friends felt about Mr Trump. I don't consider it pointless as I now have a better understanding. If the post was / is in the wrong place well that's my mistake and if it offends then someone can move it please.
Here for a good time not a long time!! Reg

I tend to agree with you that this is the "pub". So far there has been nothing discussed here that you would not hear in your local pub. In fact I would say that the discussion has been even more polite than that which you would find in the average pub so obviously we are in the lounge bar where polite society gathers. The adage that politics, religion, and sex should not be discussed at the dinner table tends to make for fairly boring dinners. And, when all is said and done, this is the pub, not the dinner table. As far as I am concerned - Long live the Malvern Arms and all who visit it!

Having witnessed the sad demise of the MSCCDG, and later eMog, it would indeed seem a great shame if yet another Morgan forum bit the dust as the result of macho behaviour or any other of our many human failings, though I think and hope that few of us will be novices relative to the wondrous webs ability to draw out our deficiencies, the hope is that good manners prevail.. The MSCC withdrew funding from Mogtalk but it still exists. The reasons for eMog going has little if anything to do with its users, IMHO.

As a very Senior Citizen (days from being 90) I take great pride in being the "Old Sage" who threw alleged experience know everything. Strange I must listen to the Grand Children to find out what is going on in this World. Hmmm. I must talk to one of them to get My "spell check" fixed.

I had a dream......
I was in a hotel lounge, and Trump was in the next seat. He was entertaining company. It was most bizarre as a dream.
Almost as strange as having a pub lunch in the middle of nowhere and have Nigel Farage walk in.........

Michael Lewis was on Desert Island Disks this morning... Trump's cancellation of the usual handover to his administation on his election is the subject of his latest scandal book. http://michaellewiswrites.com/#the-fifth-risk

Happy 90th Bill!......All the best of wishes +1 for this thought. Anyone who can reach 90 and still be a part of any community has my vote! Asking your children what’s happening gets the media polling ethics involved and that is fraught with problems. If a pollster walked into a pub in a farm town in Texas and asked about Trump and Pelosi he would get a predictable response. The same could be said for walking into a pub in Massachusetts and asking the same question, the results would be predictable. What seems to be lost on most folks is that they were not happy about one thing or another and they wanted change. Trump was the only guy that they though could achieve change since all the others running had been in the establishment for many many years and therefore were part of the problem just by being there. History will tell the tale and the complainers about the current President will at the most have 4 more years to complain and then they can switch it back, maybe, if the people think the previous years were a good thing. You all in England have a monarchy that has subtlety ruled for a very long time with Parliament trying to keep it all together. How’s that working out for you? Do you want change? How would you accomplish that change?

Can I add my best wishes for you on your birthday when it comes along Bill, That you are still messing with Morgans and covering the miles you have done puts me to shame... I suspect you may be up to if not exceeding the mileage that the GoMoG webmaster covered in his travels in North America and Europe... I take my hat off to you guys, and of course the new breed of M3W adventurers who seem to have taken up the mantle.. (-:
Lightspeed, we have been through very similar processes as you have in the US folk voted for a personality, and promises in the hope of removing power from the old guard, much the same as they have done in other parts of Europe, and for very similar reasons.... Trump would seem to have dismantled the establishment. In the UK it seems Boris Johnstone`s main advisor seeks to cut the civil service to the bare minimum...Brexit has divided the country down the middle. and where that might end, nobody knows, though there were plenty of promises...
Thus it seems possible that personality culture and promises for change can gain results...? Thinking of the female porn star who sought election in Rome, I think she won, then of course there was Berlusconi who despite his record was voted in more than once (-: Bunga Bunga boy.. (-: I think that currently the UKRAINE has a premiere who initially played the part of being the premiere of that country on TV.... Hmm....!!! So there you go Lightspeed plenty of turmoil to contemplate if in the mood to do so... Me..? I`d rather just not bother. (-:
