After a three week wait I've just been to collect the 1974 Morgan 4/4 from Williams. Drove it home (all 220 miles) on non motorway roads in appalling weather. The car ran faultlessly even with all the rain. Now I need to address a few of the issues.
1. The wipers are almost useless. They just smear the water around! Despite Williams fitting new wiper blades before Ieft
2. Wiper self park not working (assuming it has one)
3. I took the spare wheel off today to check the woodwork. Thats ok but fuel filler hose is perished (it's probably 46 years old!).
4. Bonnet catches are quite stiff to operate. I shall remove, clean and re-grease.
5. Passenger door hinge pins are showing some play so need replacing.

I've been laid up for a couple of days with "man flu" so haven't had much time in the garage (all of 30 minutes). No doubt more things will surface. I'll address the paint issues when the weather improves.

Congratulations on your new pride & joy.

Good luck with the fettling. A couple of points:
1) Wipers - they all do that sir - there are a number of threads on this site documenting potential improvements.
2) It should self park - a number of firms sell spares for the wiper motors.
Car Builder Solutions list a parking switch as well as complete motors and other parts.
3. Fuel Filler pipe Heart of England Morgans and Melvyn Rutter both sell these. Budget for a new set of knuckles.
4. Good idea
5. Heart of England Morgans list both standard and oversized hinge pins Here depending on which you need.

Before you go to expensive time consuming lengths try fully cleaning the windscreen. Mine from new had a thick layer of car wax on it which caused the issues you mention. Vinegar window cleaner followed by Rain X worked well for me.

I use Rain X. The wipers are pretty useless.
Hearts of England have in the past supplied oversize hinge pins for my other Morgans. They work well.

Could have done M4, M25, M11 but didn't fancy having nowhere to stop especially in the M4 roadworks. It was a first drive so didn't know what to expect. And motorways in the rain are not the cleverest of places to be in a little car.

Absolutely. If a truck comes up behind me and especially if Im behind another I scoot over to the middle. I do feel very vulnerable on a motorway in the mog.
