In Italy at 12 o'clock flags were lowered to half mast and a minute of silence was observed in Italy to remember all the victims of the pandemic. The only sound that could be heard was the tolling of the church bells.

Manual bell ringing would be rare in Italy. It is pretty much all actuated electronically these days. The English tradition of change ringing is not practiced in Italy.

Our Church clock is still running as it has a stand alone electric drive on the conventional movement together with the 1/4 and full hour chimes striking the 6th and 8th bells.

John, this lock down job is a nightmare I guess N is working from home now but hubby must still be working I suppose. Make sure you and June stay put you really don't want this, you normally put yours back on the road tomorrow don't you.

I'm going to do the weekly shop at the weekend in mine it's as legal as anything else around and why not, I've got a 6' bar in the car (nut driver for wheels) in case anyone takes exception to it which they won't it will give them the opportunity to smile as always.

Stay safe mate.

Be careful of the flying paint, you might have a
different color car
coming home.

I don't think so, we are shopping for ourselves and other at risk neighbours and as I am at risk on two counts neither of which is age I drive and stay with the car and the good lady does the shop.
This way we all stay reasonably sane and at least the 4 cars get a little much needed exercise, I'll be glad when the lad picks up Heathers old GTI though 4 is too many for me right now.
I am seriously considering selling the Titanium tractor as well, it's a great little car but do we really need it no..
That will leave me a vestige of wriggle room for something else that looks good, I want to take a good look at the new Plus Four with alloys and in pictures it looks good at least so anything is possible the Plus Six only appears to go backwards very quickly so that's ruled itself out for me as I have needed new under crackers twice in my Plus 8 over the years.
