Not my best effort on account of a loose camera mount. Nevertheless, an outing at a time when there are precious few opportunities for a drive given the current Covid 19 restrictions.

All well down here in New Zealand, with sunny weather most of the time. The hibernation is proving therapeutic.

great video thank you we are eager to take out our cars here in the UK, our TR4 1956 car has a leak in the head gasket so its a job for me to do. The liners are supposed to be proud of the block by 3 -5 thou and they are flush...so my fix is to fit 'washers//shims and a new gasket and hopefully this avoids taking out the liners and replacing the compressed figure of eight seals...

When did transmission whine become a thing of the past on cars , 1980's ? Did it get shielded out by soundproofing or was it a change in engineering design of the propshaft and gearbox ? sherlock

Added grip? I'd call it performance reduction, even with a 3 litre V6 laugh2

Well it certainly move the weight to the middle / back of the car with both of us in it.

Whine is more usually from the diff, although straight cut gears have a finger nails down a blackboard quality.

My Plus 4 has a really slight whine at a certain speed band, sort of 50-60mph...…….it's literally nothing, but when I know its there, I tune into it every time.

It could be the gearbox...……..not sure without looking if fifth is direct drive.

MGB diffs often sang loud with power on or off...……………..

My footage appears to have triggered subsequent topics on essential and / or appropriate use of a Morgan during these trying Covid 19 times. Each of us will be comfortable / or not in using their sports cars for essential trips while others will be more inclined to regard them more as toys or fair weather cars. For me a Morgan is a thing of beauty that I have long lusted after and a car that needs to be driven - not just polished and looked at. Long may we have freedom of choice to get in and drive when we wish. While we have the inclination and while we have the ability. We have owned our 1962 Plus 4 for almost 6 years now - all trouble free motoring. She starts up every time without fail and we have clocked up 20,000 miles including 3 length of NZ and return trips in that time. Our Morgan has proved to be the most reliable and enjoyable of all cars we have ever owned, so we plan on continuing to use it whenever and wherever we can - and always with smiles on our faces. Isn’t that what it’s all about?

Brian both those threads were up prior to your posting, and we always enjoy your videos, I intend to shop in my Morgan this week just to give it a run and as the other car has an expired wof. Saw a Mclaren and a Lamborghini on my walk yesterday - they don't get the waves from kids the Morgan does.
Cheers Murray
