Hello - I am currently restoring our family 1984 Morgan 4/4 four seater. Now that I have it stripped it down to the chassis I am starting with rebuilding the rear suspension. Does anyone know if the bushes in the rear spring leaf-eye and the shackle are available in Poly?

I would also like to exchange the worn rubber engine mounts for the CVH engine. Again - ideally using Poly instead for rubber.

Any hint is highly apprieciated
Best Regards and Greeting from Bonn/Germany
Tim

Firstly welcome order Welkommen.. thumbs
Try Melvyn Rutter on the leaf springs. My thoughts are no one supplies those.

On the engine mounts I have no idea , but others on here will.
Why do you think poly ethylene will be better on an engine mount vs a chemical rubber like nitrile? Ploy is rock hard and surely you want the vibration absorbed by the material. That is why they are an industrial rubber compound that flexes.

I couldn't find any, but I'm sure if you measured them up while you've got them off, there'd be a similar match out there.

Polybush.

@John V6: at least on a classic Mini I have first hand experience that the poly bushes last much longer and especially on the engine mounts provide a much better ride. On the Morgan that might be different - given that it is rear wheel drive. I thought asking if Poly is available somewhere is a good idea. The rubber ones latest for 36 years so maybe I should spend too much thought on this - whoever is going to restore the car in the year 2056 can think about this again smile

I will contact Melvyn for the standard ones I guess.

Superflex may perhaps have what you need.

Or if based in Australasia Superpro who have a long reputation for engineering varying duro suspension bushes.
