Hello everyone!

This is a simple teaser post… grin2 to tell you that I’m about to secure my bonnet against unauthorized openings from the stealing baboons in a really simple, very simple way… smirk2

FYI it implies just two very easy and very simple drills, and a much simpler mechanism to secure the bonnet using standard-but-slightly-modified nautical accessories. budster

More to come! sherlock

Tomorrow I'll finish the job, and will try to write the post.

The locking system looks neat with the cockades on love

An appetizer video. Sorry for my English and terrible Spanish accent, and the long introduction before showing the system… it's being a long hard day oops

Very ingenious. I love simple, elegant solutions.

And your "terrible Spanish accent" is no problem to understand. So much better than my terrible American accent in Spanish. cowboy

Yes sir! One on each side.

I still haven't done the drills on the M3W. I'm still looking for some protector film and thinking about putting or not a wall grommet. I think I won't put the wall grommet, as it will imply drilling up to 12mm diameter, while the 6-6,5 mm is good enough.

You'll soon see the post and all detailed pictures when finished. I think it's going to be a nice solution.

Marmota,

This is a great idea and execution, but I would not drill a car for that.

We traveled 15000 miles in ours and never had an issue, I mean 99.9% of population do not know what Dzus fasteners are and definitely would not want to open a bonnet on a M3W... just a thought.

Javier, looks like you have found a nice and clean solution for yourself. Good to have peace of mind.

Additional rattles come to mind first.
