Hi Folks

I'd very much like help trying to track down my first Morgan, a 1980 4/4. The last I heard of it it was in Ireland in the hands of a Christie Doyle. I can't remember any contact details as it was nearly 14 years ago and in the hands of the second person to own it after I'd sold it..
Having considered and decided not to buy a Plus Six or Roadster I'd like to see if I could re-acquaint myself with the car and possibly buy it back.

The car was delivered new to me and my wife on 22 November 1980 having been laid down on the 30th September. The colour was ICI cardinal red with Connolly vauxmol grey leather interior and wire wheels. The chassis number was 84796 and the original registration MTT222W. I always regretted selling it but it had to go to fund our Roadster.

Colour pictures of the car can be found in Chris Harvey's Morgan the last survivor.

Any help would be gratefully received.

It's worth checking out the gomog Morgan Register.. and then I guess MSCC might be able to help.

I think this is the site you are referring to Richard:
https://morganville.org/
Not part of gomog...

Roady, can you remember the chassis number? The car may be listed on Morganville, but there are many that aren't.
Another possibility may be to contact the MSCC Membership Secretary to see if she has any info.

Roady, if other than Northern Ireland was it`s home and if it has come back to the UK perhaps there is a chance it has reverted to it`s original UK registration number..? I think these days you can check to see if that reg is in use in the UK and perhaps has a recent MOT history that can be traced...?

Yes I see it now Graham I always access it via this site so assumed it was an associate, didn't mean to mislead you Roady..

The DVLA MOT checker gives "Morgan unknown" so that could mean exported, change of plate or worst case written off I suppose, lets hope it's been exported. You never know maybe a number change some owners have a liking for a MOG in it somewhere.

That should be B4796. It's in the Morganville Register but it only says it's in the UK, not the owner. This could obviously be out of date.

Last recorded change of ownership (V5C) was May 2004. Untaxed since October 2004 at DVLA. If you pay a fee you can check if it"s been scrapped, written off, exported etc.

How does the Morgan registry Morganville work regards privacy as its possible for some nasty folk to use it for ilegal activities such as stealing a car to order etc?

Rob, PRIVACY..! Sorry, that is a rather old fashioned concept. The nasty folk will ever find ways of using data of all types for their varied and nefarious purposes... It would seem that TM is wide opened too.

No it wouldn't have been that, when you change number the original registration disappears from the DVLA's online database.

Anyway, it looks like it went abroad, presumably in 2004...

Try contacting the MSCC membership secretary Gill, she could put it in the "where are they now?" section of the club magazine.

It was built a couple of weeks after mine, I hope you track it down.
