Am I alone in noticing something - Late 4/4s prices are holding up?

The 4/4 was last available to order in the UK sometime in late 2018 - a pity in my view as its a cracking car with its revvy Sigma engine. Several dealers took on some of these 2018 4/4s - Oakmere had 5 I remember. They still have one, showing delivery miles @ £43,850. However on the used front you still need £39995 to get into a 2016 version ( 12-13k miles) or a 2018 with really low miles. A 6 year old 4/4 with 30K covered is yours for £34K, get £1500 off that if you pick a 2013 car. Pretty much what they were new I suspect.

Some on TM did suggest that with the "entry" price into new Morgan ownership ( 4 wheels) going up it should help stabilise values.

Current 4/4 owners I suspect will be cherishing their cars and get a warm glow of satisfaction, not only from driving them, but the fact that the depreciation curve is modest at worst.

Not sure what this has done to plus4 values - still quite a few "new" ones about I guess - and of course a big chunk less than the new PlusFour.

We just need to be sure of the actual "trade" price as distinct from the advertised "offered" price. There can be a significant difference.

Like many others I suspect, I've recently been looking at the specs and road tests on the new Plus Four. Fantastic car and probably what a lot of us might well have bought had it been available when we bought ours. The lockdown didn't help either - plenty of time for brooding. However, now I've been able to get back out in my 2015 Plus 4 GDi I've once again realised what a cracking car it is. I suspect many of us might feel the same way, lessening the chances of selling/trading in and hence once more limiting supply of what is, in comparison with the new Plus Four, a bargain. I don't worry about what mine will be worth if I eventually sell it but someone will definitely be getting a great deal.

The Plus 4 GDI with the AR upgrade is an amazing Morgan.

Does the AR upgrade make a big difference? I currently have a GDI and it’s a lot cheaper than a new one. I know it won’t have the performance of the new one but it’s about the experience you feel driving it.

I think we need dealerships to reopen and the market to settle down, to get a clearer picture of values?

The reasons I love my 4/4 is the narrow body style, the simplicity and that it doesn’t stress my limited driving skills,

Would I ever change to another model?
Possibly, if a nice coloured, Series 1 3.0ltr Roadster, with full bumpers took my fancy,
But until then, I’m more than happy with the 4/4.

It is a brilliant upgrade - I think it is how they all should have been from the off - mine now excites me at 3000 revs and also uses significantly less fuel!!
Go for it , you will not regret it!

The values of used Morgans have never made sense to me, I had a similar struggle when I was looking for my Plus 4, the age, mileage and price never seemed to correlate in a linear fashion. In the end I found one a standard spec model that the price was reasonable on. The improvements came later!

On the AR upgrade, it's well worth doing, in my case, more power and better MPG, whats not to like! It makes the car be as it should have been leaving the factory, athough you may need to improve other area's to make the most of it etc,

As an aside, it makes it tricky to get the swapping bug for the new Plus Four, although a test drive may change my mind, however the price means I willl be staying put.

I've also been watching prices of Morgans and 4/4s in particular recently to see what effect C-19 has had and so far prices seem firm, or at least the asking prices

The Red 4/4 the last of the 5 new 4/4s Oakmere had has been for sale at least 18 months and the new Blue 4/4 has only recently been sold.

Reasons why Oakmere had the 4/4s for so long are uncertainty with Brexit last year, and also perhaps Road tax for 2017 onward cars being £465 a year, which is expensive in my view for a 1.6 litre entry level model.
