When the travel restrictions are lifted I wouldn’t mind a visit to Barnard Castle.
It must be an awesome place. I have been near there but not actually to the town.
Maybe there should be an organised day there?
Call it...
Cummings to see you day?
Blind drivers day?

Sue and I visited many years ago. Can't remember much about it, TBH. I feel a revisit is due smile

Don't wait for the restrictions to be lifted, run it passed the PM, tell him you are following your instincts, and you might be able to go now. innocent

I could recommend a trip to Barnard Castle I am often in the area and was there just before lockdown. For me Its a nice 2.5 hour run up the M6 (or A6) to Tebay J38 and lovely scenery to Kirkby Stephen (worth a quick stop) then A666 over the wild high moors of Stainmore and on to the market town of Barnard Castle.

Apart from the Castle there are some good shops, cafes, pubs (remember those?) and a number of Antique shops. Nearby is the Bowes Museum when it reopens, a 'French' Chateau which is worth a day out by itself and has a famous art collection.

The Tan Hill Inn (1732ft asl) is not too far away either.

The line prior to that was "you only fit double glazing once so"
My mother in law has Everest windows and doors and is constantly pestered by Everest to replace them.
As a manufacturer of traditional timber windows this amuses me no end.

We used to get constant calls from Everest, who didn't seem to accept my contention that they wouldn't be able to fit their windows to our house, despite it not being a listed building. They only stopped when I emailed them a picture of our > 400 year old stone mullions with the glass set direct into the stone with no frames whatsoever.
