He truly is the gift that keeps on giving just like those Russian dolls - I'll bet his Dad's chuffed to bits about this rofl Swimming pool - right..

Dumps his kid/s gets untold adverse publicity and compromises untold people all over the country and leaves his Dad in a planning battle, a son you can be proud of clap

What I find amazing is that so many people voted for the clown that employs him.

Me too - for the first time in my life I couldn't go with the Blue team innocent There was no other choice than Orange as I don't like mockney commies or the real deal.

Ah yes but when if ever have you had the opportunity to vote for the best person in the country to be the PM? I would humbly suggest we usually get to vote for the least worst option of those available.
I don’t think anyone, except BJ himself ever got up in the morning and thought “know who would be the best candidate in the country to be PM? Boris Johnson.

Yes, I don't think he would have such an easy ride against Keir Starmer in a GE. But it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he was replaced before that happens.

Not going to disagree with that but who from the ranks could be found that would have credibility. Has his absence from public display been part of a "roll out the candidates" program with the daily speechs?

Just time to burn a little more petrol before dinner.

Well it's quite a good way of figuring out who can play well, isn't it? Although admittedly it does seem that we have more people ruling themselves out as a credible replacement rather than presenting as a strong candidate.

It seems to me that BJ is bound to end up being sacrificed as a scapegoat for our abysmal handling* of the Coronavirus crisis. Still, they've got a good 4 years or so to sort something out.

If they bought back David Miliband (his wet brother was a waste of space) they would have a credible opposition, I don't think Doris or Starmer will make it to the next election imho, as ever time will tell.

Dragging it back on thread though Dominic Cummings will definitely be gone by then and enjoying his fat CS pension that we can all look forward to contributing innocent

I doubt he will have built up a massive “Golden Pension”. It is basically based on years of service times salary divided by 60. There are Classic and Premium versions but no huge amounts. There are enhancements based on commuted pension sums though. I don’t know if there would be any ex gratia payments outside the Pension calculator.
Similar for MP’s plus a “readjustment” lump sum should they leave as an MP through retirement or non re-election.

Very often the benefits of being an ex MP or Civil Servant come from advisory roles to outside bodies, quangos, and lucrative lecture tours ( Blair and Cherie type). Nigel Lawson is a prime example of being snapped up by Private Enterprise. Ex Balls has become a TV Celeb.
